With a sleeping area of 96 x 213 cm, the hard-shell wedge tent offers sufficient space for one person, while the compact pack size of 102 x 228 x 18 cm leaves plenty of room on the car roof for additional equipment, such as a kayak.Weighing only 58 kilos (+ 6 kg for the ladder), the BDV Solo is one of the lightest roof tents on the market. A roof load of 60 kilos is completely sufficient. Despite its slim design, the Solo brings all the features of the larger Duo model.

Size of the sleeping area

The roof tent offers sufficient space for two people. The sleeping area measures about 135 x 213 cm (W x L), ensuring comfortable nights under the stars.

Weight

The roof tent weighs about 73 kg. The removable ladder (6 kg) travels comfortably in your luggage, keeping the tent weight on the roof as low as possible.

Tent fabric

Sustainable materials were used in the production of the BDV rooftop tent, such as organic cotton and recycled poly fabric obtained from melting old plastic bottles. The tent fabric is GRS and OCS certified and meets all criteria of the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Class 1. Does the Rooftop Tent Fit on My Vehicle?


The rooftop tent can be mounted on almost any vehicle that has a dynamic roof load of at least 60 or 75 kg. You only need two crossbars/load carriers. The rooftop tent is then attached to the crossbars/load carriers with the included materials. Mounting directly on a roof railing is not recommended as the distance to the roof is very small and the U-bolts could cause scratches. So even with a roof railing, you need crossbars/load carriers.

But With Me, Doesn't the Rooftop Tent Weigh Much More?


For most vehicles, the roof load is between 75 – 100 kg. However, this specification refers to the load during driving! When stationary, the weight that can act on the roof can be significantly higher. Consider this: in case of a rollover, the car must be able to rest on its roof.
