Folding roof tents
Hard shell roof tents
Hard shell roof tents in the vertically opening version are among the classics and are ready to use in just a few seconds. No folding or setup is required – simply open the hard shell and your sleeping area is ready. Another advantage: the sleeping area remains within the footprint of your car, which is ideal for small parking spaces or quick stops on a road trip. This uncomplicated handling makes the hard shell roof tent the perfect choice for anyone who values speed and efficiency.
Hybrid roof tents
Hybrid roof tents combine the best of both worlds: The hard shell offers excellent protection against wind and rain and provides good insulation against cold and noise. When opened up, the sleeping area expands beyond the base area of the hard shell, similar to a pop-top tent, thus creating additional space. A hybrid roof tent is the ideal choice, especially for travelers with several people, as it combines the comfort and space of a folding roof tent with the robustness and insulation of a hard shell.
Wedge roof tents
Wedge roof tents are also equipped with a hard shell, but open at an angle of around 45 degrees rather than vertically. This stable wedge shape makes the tent particularly windproof and resistant, even in extreme weather conditions. Buying a roof tent: Correct dimensions, model & setup - Mobile home
Sleeping on the ground is probably something for beginners. More and more campers are buying a roof tent for their car. However, such a purchase is associated with many questions. “Can my car take it?”, “What size do I need?” and “How much will all this fun cost me?”. We explain all this and more before you buy a roof tent.

Dimensions: Will it fit my car?
Roof tents for cars can be fitted to almost any vehicle with a dynamic roof load of at least 75 kg. All you need are 2 cross struts or load carriers. The roof tent is then attached using the materials supplied with the roof rack. Mounting directly on a roof rail is not recommended, as the distance to the roof is very small and the U-bolts can cause scratches. You therefore need cross struts even with roof rails. The installation of roof tents is really easy, if you need help we also offer a full service installation service for you.

Weight: Maximum payload
For most vehicles, the roof load is between 75 – 100 kg, but this specification refers to the load when the vehicle is in motion! When stationary, the weight acting on the roof may be significantly higher. In the event of a rollover, the car must be able to rest on the roof, so you don’t need to worry about this.

The two Skycamp roof tents are now also available in the “Rocky Black” version . The hard shells are finished with a matt black LineX coating. This gives the car roof tent a robust look and not only cuts a fine figure in the off-road sector.
It also reduces air resistance on the road. The unique hard shell has a special air zone between the outer and inner shape. This air zone makes the hard shell strong, durable and also insulates the inside of the roof tent against noise and cold.
X-CoverNew PVC tarpaulin
The new cover saves time and energy. Conventional bulky PVC covers are sometimes a bit of a sporting challenge, especially for tall vehicles. The new patented cover only closes the necessary area on the sides between the waterproof floor and lid. The PVC tarpaulin is firmly integrated and is closed with a sturdy, equally waterproof zipper. Material: Tent fabric and tent base
The tent fabric of our high-quality roof tents consists of a very high-quality 300 g blended fabric, also known as canvas or canvas. The fiber is a textile work of art made from cotton and polyester and combines the advantages of a natural fiber with those of a modern high-tech material. The result is a strong, breathable fabric with a pleasant feel, great dimensional stability and high quality.
The tent fabric, which is also used by the military, is impregnated and extra tear-resistant. All seams are made with special thread that expands after the first contact with water and seals any seam holes.
