Cooking with a Dutch Oven is very popular.
But how do you use it optimally on the campsite?
CAMPWERK asked the authority on Dutch Ovens, De Vuurmeester, to describe some special Dutch Oven recipes.

Camping Ratgeber:
Bread from the Dutch Oven
This month a recipe for bread.
There is few things more satisfying than your own freshly baked bread from the Dutch Oven.
To get good results, I recommend using the ring method when baking.
This involves dividing the briquettes into a ring on the bottom and on top of the pan.
What do you need.
- 500 grams of flour
- 7 grams of dried yeast
- 10 grams of salt
- 2 grams of sugar
- 20 grams of unsalted butter
- 300 milliliters of lukewarm water
Getting started:
Sift the flour into a bowl.
Make a well in the center.
Sprinkle the salt along the edge of the bowl.
Put the yeast, sugar and butter into the well.
Carefully pour in the lukewarm water.
Mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon to form a wet dough.
Dust your work surface with some flour, place your dough on it and knead into a cohesive dough for about 15 minutes.
Knead the dough into a large ball, place it in a bowl and cover with a damp, clean tea towel or a piece of plastic wrap.
Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour until it has doubled in volume. Line the Dutch Oven with baking paper.
Press the dough flat until all the air is out.
Form a patch of dough about 1 to 2 centimeters thick.
Fold the piece in three and knead well again.
Form another ball of dough, place it in the Dutch Oven and cover with a damp tea towel or a piece of plastic wrap.
Let the dough rise for the second time for 1 hour in a warm place.
Bake the bread by the ring method until done. Tip: to prevent the bottom of your bread from burning, you can first place a lid support (trivet) in the Dutch Oven.
Then place the baking paper and your dough on top.
