Camping Ratgeber:
Step 1 to 9: List with planning
Planning a trip is not always easy, so here is a list of possible steps.
These can help you to follow a sensible sequence when planning a trip.
Then you’ll never lose sight of your destination and always know what you should do next.
The list
- Set time
- Check budget
- Select location
- Determine goals
- Plan activities
- Plan for rest & relaxation
- Book tickets or similar
- Packing list
- Have fun
Cycling is a popular activity on an excursion: And now once again in more detail:
Step 1: Determine time frame
First of all, you should determine the time period in which you all have time to do something.
This depends entirely on your family.
Some families are very spontaneous and ready to go away tomorrow at any time, for less spontaneous families it can be worth planning two months in advance.
If you want to go away for a whole weekend, for example, you can find more tips here:
Step 2: Check the budget
Then you should check how much budget you have available.
With the budget in mind, you can then plan in a relaxed manner without ending up in financial difficulties.
Just make sure you don’t keep the budget too small.
It can really detract from the quality of your vacation if you spend the whole time watching the money when you could have spent more.
Step 3: Consider destination
Of course, this raises the question of the destination.
Where would you like to go?
You should consider the weather, the travel time, the equipment on site and, for example, your car, the family-friendliness of the destination and the well-being of all fellow travelers.
Compromises may have to be made here, but you should make sure that everyone has fun.

Step 4: View surroundings & determine excursion destinations
Once you have decided on your destination, it may be worth looking at the surrounding area.
If you are already traveling and want to go on a day trip, you can also see what is on offer in the area.
You can switch back and forth between campsite and excursion destination particularly flexibly with a roof tent.
You can quickly fold it up again and drive off.

Step 5: Exercise & activities
It is often also very nice to do an exciting activity during an excursion.
Depending on what you have planned, these things are a good idea:
- Hiking
- Ride a bike
- Go for a walk
- Picnic
- Swimming
- Boating

After a successful excursion: with the family in the roof tent!
Step 6: Rest & relaxation
Don’t forget that – especially for families with children – it’s worth planning in rest and relaxation periods.
When the children are still small, they need rest in between and a break is often good for all older family members too.
Besides, how are you supposed to relax on vacation when the stress of everyday life continues?
Step 7: Reservation & Booking
Now the plan is in place, it’s time to put it into action: you should reserve or book everything you have chosen.
This could be tickets or admission passes for the local zoo, for example, or bikes reserved for the planned bike tour.
Step 8: Rethink your packing list
Then the actual planning is complete.
Nevertheless, it can’t hurt to think about what you are packing and write a packing list.
You should pay particular attention to the forecast weather conditions.
In addition, important items for family members (diapers, glasses, etc.) should not be forgotten.
Last but not least, take your first-aid kit and you’re ready to go.
