What do you need for what?
Packing list & explanation
Your equipment should include a climbing harness, a chalk bag with magnesia to keep your hands dry and prevent them from slipping due to sweat, and climbing shoes.
When climbing on rock faces, you should ideally also take a helmet with you.
This prevents injuries from loose, falling rocks, which are not uncommon on rock faces.
You will also need climbing ropes, carabiners and, if necessary, quickdraws to secure your rope to the wall.
When ice climbing on frozen walls, you should use ice axes and serrated crampons for your shoes.
To make sure you don’t forget anything, you can find a packing list here.
Tip: If you print out the list, you can tick the boxes.
This way you can always see what you have already packed.
