What exactly is espresso?
Creating espresso is actually a brewing method.
It is made from the same types of beans as the normal coffee you know.
While some types of coffee beans are preferred by avid espresso drinkers for their multi-faceted aroma and flavor strength, you can theoretically make espresso from any type of coffee bean.
The biggest difference between espresso and regular coffee is the brewing method.
Brewing process and result
While normal drip coffee is made by slowly filtering hot water through the coffee grounds, espresso takes much less time to prepare.
Espresso machines take very hot water and carefully press it through.
The entire brewing process takes about 30 seconds, in contrast to a normal coffee machine, which can take up to 10 minutes.
The end result is a very strong, concentrated, aromatic and caffeinated shot of espresso.
And with the right steps, you can make perfect coffee even without a machine.
