100 km/h Approval
Am I allowed to drive 100 km/h with the trailer?
For your trailer combination to be allowed to drive 100 km/h in Germany, several important points must be observed. The permissible total mass of the trailer must not exceed any of the following three values:
- the permissible trailer load of the towing vehicle
- the permissible total mass of the towing vehicle
- the result of 1.1 x empty weight of the towing vehicle
What does this mean for our camping trailers?
The unbraked ONROAD tent trailer
may be towed at 100 km/h if your towing vehicle has ABS, an empty weight of at least 2,500 kg and the permissible trailer load specified in the vehicle registration document in field O.2 is at least 750 kg.
The braked ONROAD tent trailer
may be towed at 100 km/h if your towing vehicle has ABS, an empty weight of at least 1,182 kg and the permissible trailer load specified in the vehicle registration document in field O.1 is at least 1,300 kg.
The braked OFFROAD tent trailer
may be towed at 100 km/h if your towing vehicle has ABS, an empty weight of at least 1,364 kg and the permissible trailer load specified in the vehicle registration document in field O.1 is at least 1,500 kg.
If the values do not match,
we offer you the option to have your tent trailer downgraded by TÜV from the factory. In this process, the permissible total weight in the vehicle registration document is reduced by the missing value.
