Camping Ratgeber:
Definition: What is a road trip?
A road trip therefore takes place in the great outdoors on wide-open roads.
You drive from one place to the next in your car or camper, with the journey often being the destination.
You spend a lot of time on the road, make frequent stops and not only get to know the country intensively, but also see the most idyllic, remote places, far away from the tourist hustle and bustle.
You should generally plan more time for a road trip than for a package tour, for example, as this allows you to see and experience as much as possible.
Even if a lot of things happen spontaneously, you should still think through and plan your road trip well in advance.
You can read all about organizing your trip in advance here:
That’s what makes a road trip:
- Long journeys on extensive roads
- By car or camper from place to place
- The journey is often the destination
- Spontaneous stops and breaks
What do you do on a road trip?
The exciting thing about a road trip is that you are not bound by any fixed times or regulations and can change and adapt your route spontaneously.
You can stop whenever and wherever you like and enjoy the complete closeness to nature and the feeling of total freedom with your loved ones.
Driving straight ahead for hours, marveling at the picturesque landscapes and turning up your favourite music to full volume – that’s what a road trip is all about!
So if you want to get away from the stressful, monotonous everyday life, you should pack your bags and opt for an adventurous and definitely unforgettable road trip.
Spontaneous breaks in the middle of nature – that’s how relaxed your road trip can be!
