Rooftop tent models in comparison: different amounts of space
A roof tent is super practical for both couples and families for a relaxed yet adventurous vacation, regardless of the region.
There are a variety of models that differ in size, design, material, accessories and price.
A slightly smaller roof tent for 2 people is ideal for couples, but also for solo travelers.
A larger roof tent for 4 people is ideal for families with children and especially for longer, multi-week trips.
If you still don’t have enough space, you can also extend the whole thing with a tent trailer, which is coupled to the back of the car.
Which roof tent is best for me?
First of all, good news: Every roof tent model fits almost every car!
This means that no matter which car you drive, whether Audi, BMW, Ford or VW, a roof tent can be used in any case, provided that suitable roof racks are mounted on the car roof.
You can therefore also opt for a fairly large roof tent if you wish.
Each model is hardly noticeable when folded up while driving and does not take up any storage space, but offers you an amazingly large sleeping and living area when unfolded.
So you can choose one of the models and configure it in the store according to your ideas and wishes.

The best roof tent for couples
If you are traveling as a couple, a small roof tent is usually sufficient.
The Skycamp Mini and the Adventure roof tent are both recommended for 1-3 people and are therefore ideal for a couple’s vacation or a trip with a child.
Adventure and Skycamp Mini in comparison
In a direct comparison, the Adventure roof tent, which is available in two different sizes, impresses with a larger sleeping area than the Skycamp Mini.
The former is available with a sleeping area of up to 240 x 120 cm, while the Mini only has around 130 x 210 cm.
Nevertheless, even this space is perfectly adequate for sleeping on the campsite.
The Mini is a hard-shell roof tent and therefore ideal for all weather conditions, but the robust Adventure also has nothing to hide in this respect.
Both tents can be set up in just a few minutes and without much effort and are equipped with an integrated mattress and ladder.
There is also very little difference in terms of pack size and weight, as both can be transported very inconspicuously on the roof of a car.
The Adventure is priced at around 1,689 euros and the Skycamp Mini at 3,580 euros.
Depending on which individual additions and extensions you would like to have, the prices can of course vary.

If you want to go on your next vacation with your whole family including children, the Skycamp 3.0.
and the X-Cover come into consideration.
Both are quite large and offer enough space for each family member to sleep and for other uses.
If you are traveling for a longer period of time and everyone wants a little more privacy, we recommend an additional tent trailer or an extension tent or awning.
Skycamp 3.0.
and X-Cover in comparison
While the huge X-Cover even offers space for 5 people with a sleeping area of 230 x 190 cm, the 197 x 203 cm and therefore slightly smaller sleeping area of the Skycamp can easily accommodate 4 people.
Both tents guarantee a load capacity of around 410 kg and a small pack size of 217 x 139 cm for the Skycamp and 195 x 120 cm for the X-Cover.
