Mounting the roof tent: uncomplicated on the car roof
The roof tent, our faithful travel companion, was mounted on our car.
The installation is usually done by the dealer, so we didn’t have to think about it.
Once fitted, it was amazing for us to see how compact it was and yet later big enough for us to sleep in comfortably.
In our experience, it is also very quiet when driving.
As long as you don’t exceed a speed of 120 km/h, you hardly even notice it’s there.
The tips from our experience summarized for you:
- Assembly at the dealer (very uncomplicated)
- Stowed compactly on the car roof
- Still a pleasant driving experience in the car

Destination: Flexible at the lake & surroundings
We went to a campsite by the lake.
From wooded hills to secluded beaches, we had the freedom to explore everything.

Everyday life on the campsite: cooking & community
Life on the campsite really is a unique experience.
We listened to the rustling of the trees and the distant singing of the birds as we lay in our sleeping bags and gazed at the stars.
Our roof tent had a roof window especially for this, which we would definitely recommend.
It makes you feel even closer to nature.
Even better outdoors: cooking in the roof tent
Cooking outdoors initially sounds more complicated than it is.
However, with a little preparation and prior information, you can operate a gas stove rather easily.
We were able to cook a delicious dinner of pasta and fresh vegetables on a small camping stove.
It tastes even better under the open sky.
Add to that a fresh glass of sparkling wine and we had a really wonderful evening.
A quick overview of our experiences cooking on the campsite:
- Operation of the gas stove rather uncomplicated
