And now directly to the Peugeot “off-road models”, for real camping adventures.

Peugeot Offroad: Camping with the Rifter high-roof station wagon & the Peugeot 2008, 3008

Peugeot not only stands for efficient small cars, but also for off-road action.
Even if the company does not have a “classic” off-road vehicle such as Land Rover or Mercedes Benz with the G-Class in its range, it can score points with off-road models and all-wheel drive.
Above all, Peugeot relies on a large amount of space inside the vehicles.
High-sided station wagons such as the Rifter or the Peugeot Partner are particularly suitable for traveling in a roof tent, as they offer a lot of storage space and can also cope with uneven off-road terrain.
Popular Peugeot off-road models include the Rifter and the 2008 and 3008 SUVs.

Rifter: High-roof station wagon with 4×4 drive

Since 2019, the Peugeot Rifter has also been available with 4×4 all-wheel drive, offering the ideal conditions for a camping adventure.
In addition to the basic equipment, other off-road features such as an optional hill descent control system can also be installed.
Sister models of this model are the Citroen Berlingo and the Opel Combo.
The Rifter is available in different versions such as the Access model, Active, Allure or Allure GT.
It is particularly suitable as a van and is ideal for traveling with a roof tent.
Plenty of space in the interior makes traveling as a couple or as a family very pleasant.

  • Power: 75 -96 kW / 102 – 131 hp
  • 0 – 100 km/h: 10.4 – 13.6 s
  • Top speed 172 – 200 km/h
  • Fuel consumption (combined)*: 4.2 – 5.6 l/100km

Here you can see the Peugeot Rifter in action.
Here it is being scrutinized as a space miracle for families.

Best-selling models: Partner, 208 and the Peugeot 308

As a French car manufacturer, Peugeot may not be one of the major players on the German car market, such as Mercedes Benz or Audi, but Peugeot achieves high sales figures not only internationally, but also here in Germany.
The best-selling models undoubtedly include the Peugeot 208 and 308, which tend to be traded as small cars.
However, in addition to the Rifter, the Peugeot Partner is also a top-selling model.
Here we would like to introduce you to 3 of Peugeot’s most successful cars.

Peugeot Partner: High estate is a bestseller and a car for the whole family

The Peugeot Partner is a high-sided estate/box van that is popular not only in Germany, but worldwide. It is suitable for business use as well as a family car.
The Partner has been reissued several times since 1996, so there are now several generations on the market.
The trunk capacity is 624 liters, making the Partner very spacious.
In-line four-cylinder engines with 44 to 80 kW (petrol) and 50 to 66 kW (diesel) are available.
The compact van is therefore an absolute all-rounder.
Peugeot Tepee 90 (gasoline):

Peugeot 208: Most popular small car in new edition with facelift, Car of the Year 2020

The globally popular Peugeot 208 small car was produced as the Peugeot I from 2012 to 2019, and since 2019 the 208 II has been produced as a new edition of the old model with various new features.
Here, too, there are the 3 equipment packages Access, Active and Allure.
The following special models have also appeared over the years: Like, Style, XY, Urban Move and Signature.
In 2017, 20,626 new registrations of the Peugeot 208 were registered in Germany alone.

The Peugeot 208 is the world’s first vehicle with a digital three-dimensional instrument cluster; it was named Car of the Year 2020 and received the Red Dot Award 2020 for its design and workmanship.
Peugeot 208 PureTech 68 (gasoline):

  • Power: 50 kW / 68 hp
  • 0 – 100 km/h: 13.8 s

In the first encounter, “auto, motor und sport” editor Björn Sasse tries to find out whether the electric 208 can prevail against the petrol version.

Peugeot 308

The Peugeot 308 is a compact class car and, like the Peugeot 208, is very popular.
The 308 II was first introduced in 2013 and has been in production ever since. It is a five-door compact car, in contrast to its predecessor, the Peugeot 308 I, which only had three doors.
It is produced as a hatchback model, or as a saloon.
There is now also an estate version, the 308 SW, which has been available since May 2014.
This car is also available in the Access, Active and Allure equipment packages, depending on the customer’s comfort and engine requirements.
Alongside the Partner and the 208, the Peugeot is one of the French car manufacturer’s best-selling models.

The solution: the off-road tent trailer from CAMPWERK – specially developed for extreme conditions. This unique model impresses with a raised and particularly robust AL-KO chassis that can withstand even the most demanding off-road routes. The entire body is made of lightweight but sturdy aluminum, reinforced with durable stainless steel components. So you are perfectly equipped for any terrain.
Black / Silver
Available now: The CAMPWERK Offroader in the exclusive Black/Silver Edition CAMPWERK is expanding its range and now also offers the popular off-road tent trailer in the coveted Black/Silver Edition. The high-quality aluminium body is completely anodized in matt black, while the mudguards are powder-coated in elegant “Gun Silver Metal”. An absolute eye-catcher on any road and in any terrain!
The off-road trailer from CAMPWERK impresses with its lightweight construction: Thanks to the aluminum body, the base only weighs around 300 kg when empty. With a permissible total weight of 1.5 tons, it offers an impressive payload capacity of up to 1.2 tons – ideal for small excursions, transport and even larger expeditions.

Visually, the trailer blends in perfectly with the appearance of an off-road vehicle or SUV with its coarse-tread MT tires and robust, full-length aluminium mudguards. The mudguards are also designed in such a way that they are ideal for the safe transportation of petrol and water canisters or gas bottles.

To ensure flexibility, the off-roader’s tyres can be individually adapted to the towing vehicle on request, so that only one set of spare wheels is required. The standard ball head coupling can also be optionally replaced with a DIN or NATO eye.
T-drawbar or V-fork ?
Thousands of trailer drivers know the problem of tight spaces only too well: if you drive into a narrow lane and have to turn, it is important to back your car as far as possible against the trailer in order to get around the bend without any problems. With a T-drawbar, you can utilize the maximum steering angle. This is precisely why we at CAMPWERK rely on this tried-and-tested technology – for optimum flexibility and maneuverability, no matter how tight things get.

Material and processing.
The tent fabric of our trailer tents is made from a high-quality, 450 g blended fabric, also known as canvas. This unique combination of cotton and polyester combines the advantages of a natural fiber with those of a modern high-tech material. The result is a robust, breathable fabric that impresses with its pleasant feel and high dimensional stability.

The tent fabric, which is also used by the military, is impregnated and particularly tear-resistant thanks to the ripstop process. In this special weaving technique, thicker threads are woven into the fabric at intervals of around 10-15 millimetres, giving the fabric its characteristic tiled structure and exceptional tear resistance. It goes without saying that our fabrics are opaque and therefore offer optimum protection and privacy.
The basis of our trailer tents is a robust stainless steel frame with a thickness of 3×3 cm. A 1.8 cm thick, water-resistant wooden floor panel is securely fastened to this sturdy frame with stainless steel screws. The frame of the trailer tents is also made of galvanized steel tubing and special stainless steel components that ensure maximum stability. The modern surface finish not only offers a high level of corrosion protection, but also gives the material a pleasant feel and ensures a durable, weatherproof construction.
We rely exclusively on yarn from the German market leader Amann. Thanks to the combination of a cotton core and a high-tenacity polyester core, this yarn is characterized by a particularly high tensile strength and excellent water resistance.

On contact with water, the cotton coating swells and closes the seam holes created during sewing. For additional protection, all seams in the roof area are fitted with a transparent sealing strip to ensure maximum waterproofness.
Less is sometimes more.
We are often asked: What about the water column? For tent fabrics, the impermeability of the fabric is specified in the form of the water column. For cotton tents, this value is usually around 300 to 400 mm. However, our tent fabric offers an exceptionally high water column for cotton fabric of around 750 mm. This means that theoretically more than 75 cm of water can stand on the material before the first drops penetrate.

A major advantage of cotton as a natural raw material is its ability to swell when it gets damp, which provides additional waterproofing. In contrast, synthetic fabrics, which cannot swell, must have a much higher water column (between 3,000 and 10,000 mm, depending on the material) in order to achieve comparable waterproofness.
