You shouldn’t have to go without a cup of tea when camping either.
A cup of tea can really warm you up in the evening in your roof tent or a delicious iced tea can sweeten your day on the beach.

Interesting facts about tea: Different varieties

Actually, “real tea” only refers to the leaves of the tea tree “Camellia sinensis” or “Camellia assamic” from which green or black tea is made.
In fact, only this type of tea may be called “tea” under food law.
Everything else must be labeled as an infusion drink, herbal or fruit tea.
White tea, which is made from the still closed buds, is also considered to be particularly fine.
Well-known varieties include silver needle, oolong and pu-erh tea.
However, these are often somewhat more expensive.
Tea can usually be divided into these varieties:

  • Green tea
  • Black tea
  • Herbal tea
  • Fruit tea
  • White tea

Tea while camping: no problem!

Tea is a long-lasting food if you store it correctly.
It should be kept dry, airtight and protected from light.
Loose tea in particular is susceptible to odors.
You should therefore not store it next to the spices in the camping kitchen.
It could then take on the smell and taste of the spices.
You should bear this in mind when taking tea camping:

  • Long shelf life food (correct storage)
  • Store in a dry, airtight place away from light
  • Do not store next to spices: other odors
