Toilet paper – a topic that cannot be avoided.
Going to the toilet every day is human, but hardly anyone wants to talk about it.
But it’s especially important for first-time campers to know a few things in advance.
Did you know on your first trip that campers need different toilet paper to those at home?
The toilet cassette in the motorhome or in front of the roof tent is not as powerful as the one at home.
The conventional paper does not dissolve, blocks the outlet or, in the worst case, damages the functions in the waste tank.
And then the real mess begins.
So why let it come to the worst, read here about the most important information on sanitary additives.
Camping Ratgeber:
Camping toilet paper: normal or self-dissolving?
Nobody wants to be confronted with a blocked or even broken toilet when they have just arrived on vacation. To avoid this, many suppliers offer self-dissolving toilet paper. It disintegrates within a few seconds with minimal movement and does not block the outlet or the waste tank. You can find packs of 4 rolls for as little as 2.95 euros in any camping store, at trade fairs or in the large online stores. It is usually two-ply, biodegradable and water-soluble. This has its advantages and disadvantages in many respects. On the one hand, you don’t pollute your own toilet or the environment, but on the other hand you naturally use more paper when you go to the toilet. In terms of price, this variant is more expensive than normal toilet paper and lasts a maximum of 1.5 days for a household of 4 people. Are you a camping beginner? Moist toilet paper, tissues & co.
This is definitely not recommended, as they cause blocked drains even in normal household toilets.
However, if you can’t do without them because you have to change your child’s nappy, for example, we recommend taking the small portable waste garbage cans with you.
Everything from toiletries to tissues can be disposed of there.
This also has the advantage that you avoid unwanted ingredients such as fragrances and parabens and do not irritate your skin unnecessarily.
All you need is some aloe vera gel, lavender oil, vegetable glycerine (available from pharmacies) and a spray bottle.
For disinfectant use, you should use a chestnut tincture or other tinctures with a 40% alcohol content.

When camping, you are usually out in nature for a long time as you drive from one campsite to the next.
However, there are not sanitary facilities everywhere you stop.
That’s why it makes sense to install a permanently integrated cassette toilet, especially in a caravan or camper.
This gives you much more comfort and freedom and makes you more flexible on your trip so that you can make the most of your time and enjoy an eventful and unforgettable vacation.

Fresh water hose: clean drinking water when camping
The fresh water tank supplies your motorhome with clean water for showering, washing your hands and, if necessary, cooking and drinking.
To keep everything nice and sterile, the fresh water hose must be properly maintained on the campsite.
This is often not the case, as the damp hose in the blazing sun is the perfect breeding ground for germs.
What can you do?
Get a fresh water hose yourself!
But to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that the diameter and connection match, find out in advance.
