Almost like flying? A hike high above the rooftops of the city.

The Tappeiner Trail is a hiking trail high above the red tiled roofs of the city. Directly on the mountain, it offers you a wonderful view over the city. In addition, there are also the vineyards that line the slopes. This allows you to look down on Merano, surrounded by green nature. The route is about 2.8 kilometers long and will take you around 36 minutes without breaks. However, it is definitely worth taking a short break in between and enjoying the view.

Weather: The best time to travel is always!

The weather in Merano is comparatively warm for a South Tyrolean city, as the Alps in the north protect the city from cold north winds. In July to August, the maximum temperatures climb to 30 °C. In winter, on the other hand, the temperature often drops to -7 °C. Since Merano is popular with both winter sports enthusiasts and summer vacationers, the season is year-round.
